INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ? The Indianapolis Colts won't bring back special teams coordinator Ray Rychleski next season.
The Colts said in a statement Wednesday that head coach Jim Caldwell wants to make a change. Indianapolis ranked last in the league in kickoff return average (18.6 yards) and punt return average (3.4).
Rychleski is the second Indy assistant to lose his job. Defensive coordinator Larry Coyer was fired in late November and replaced by linebackers coach Mike Murphy.
Coyer and Rychleski were both hired by Caldwell.
The move comes two days after team owner Jim Irsay fired vice chairman Bill Polian and general manager Chris Polian. The Colts went 2-14 this season.
Indy also signed tackle Mike Tepper, defensive tackle Ollie Ogbu and offensive guard Matt Murphy to three players to reserve-future contracts Wednesday.
